Rasul Efendiyev, Director of Project Implementation at the Ministry of Health The main topics covered by Life Skills Based Education is the following: it’s a healthy lifestyle, smoking, alcohol, and other substance abuse and its complications. This course is not only about what is right or wrong, its how to make right choice, how to say no, express and being able to defend your opinion, solve problems, make friends, ask for help and so on. Throughout the Life Skills Based Education course children are able to acquire such necessary skills as listening, discussion, decision making and negotiation skills. Topics are presented using interactive ways with the participation of children.
The content of sensitive topics such as sexual education, reproductive health, safe sexual behavior, STI and HIV transmission and prevention are developed according to the age of children. |
