Partnership Forum
Four hundred delegates took part in the first Partnership Forum in Bangkok, 7-8 July 2004, at the United Nations Conference Center. The conclusions of the Partnership Forum were then presented at a press conference on Sunday, 11 July.

The
report was available for review until August 31, 2004, and comments and suggestions
regarding its content were synthesized for review by the Partnership Forum
Steering Committee of the Global Fund Board and incorporated where appropriate.
There were additional opportunities in August to comment on these recommendations
and the Partnership Forum process at PartnersGF, the online discussion forum

are considered by the appropriate committees of the Global Fund Board, progress

The
Partnership Forum is a unique feature of the Global Fund. It meets every two
years to discuss the effectiveness of Global Fund policies and practices
and how they can improve. The Partnership Forum is open to a broad
group of stakeholders (including civil society, the private sector and academia)
and provides a channel for feedback from stakeholders who are not formally
represented elsewhere in the governance structure of the Global Fund.
Since mid-March 2004, approximately 750 Global Fund stakeholders have joined PartnersGF (see below), an independently moderated online discussion forum which has provided the introductory, virtual component of the Partnership Forum.

Discussions also took place during six Regional Meetings of Global Fund recipients in the first few months of 2004 (Eastern & South Eastern Europe and Central Asia - Western & Central Africa - Eastern & Southern Africa - Asia - Eastern Mediterranean region).
