Mid-Term Meeting on the Global Fund's Voluntary Replenishment Mechanism

Download the Chair's Summary (PDF - 32 KB) Following the three replenishment meetings in 2005 and to asses the process going forward, the Global Fund held a Mid-Term review of its Replenishment Mechanism in Durban, South Africa in July 2006. OPENING SPEECHES Manto Tshabalala-Msimang Minister of Health, South Africa Download the speech (62 KB)   Dr. Lieve Fransen Vice-Chair of the Board Download the speech (16 KB) Donors were invited to discuss key issues pertaining to the long term strategy of the Fund and the predictability of its funding in the framework of the newly introduced replenishment mechanism. The Durban meeting also provided the donors with the opportunity to review the performance of the Global Fund including performance indicators, targets and grant performance. Finally the Mid-Term Review reassessed the resource needs and the available funding in the light of latest forecast and discussed any funding gap.
