First common meeting of
Friends of the Global Fund organizations
Prior to the Partnership Forum, on July 1st 2006 in Durban, representatives of Friends of the Global Fund organizations from the United States, Japan, Europe and Africa met for the first time to exchange views on how to mobilize broad-based political and financial support for the Global Fund. The purpose of the Friends organizations is also to educate the public on the 3 diseases and to communicate on the work of the Global Fund. A fifth Friends organization is expected to be launched in 2006 in Asia.
