Principal Recipients (PR) may have several responsibilities under AMFm Phase 1. Firstly, the Principal Recipient nominated for AMFm Phase 1 is responsible for managing, monitoring and reporting on AMFm supporting interventions implemented through the AMFm ‘host’ grant.
A PR may also be a first-line buyer for AMFm, if the grant for which they are responsible includes a procurement component for artemisinin-based combination therapies (ACTs). In order to be a first-line buyer for AMFm, a PR must sign the non-negotiable first-line buyer undertaking with the Global Fund. This undertaking is in addition to any existing agreements the PR currently has as part of its grant agreement with the Global Fund.
