The Coca-Cola Company has released (THRED), a new app for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, which allows players to contribute to the fight against AIDS. The game, which is free to play, involves players progressing their way through an abstract 3D world of shifting walls, obelisks and dragon-like gateways to score points. Throughout the game, users will have the opportunity to purchase power-ups and select items via In-App Purchase. All proceeds (excluding taxes) will be donated to the Global Fund to invest in HIV/AIDS programs in Africa, including treatment for prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV.
The behind-the-scenes development of (THRED) was filmed for a television and digital program called ‘Making the Game’ for (RED), presented by Coca-Cola, which is airing in 70 countries throughout December and January.
(THRED) was created by Coca-Cola in collaboration with (RED), and was designed by independent game developers BitMonster. The (THRED) App is available for free on the App Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch at www.itunes.com/appstore , and at www.coke.com/THRED.
