Watch this short film of Global Fund partners in action in Tanzania where The Coca-Cola Company and its bottling partners are helping the Government improve how they buy and distribute medicines across Tanzania.
The Global Fund is a key funder of treatment and prevention, but also of the health systems supporting these activities. It is the health systems, health workers, infrastructures, and information and procurement systems that allow the medicines to get from a central warehouse to where they're needed in the rural areas. Innovative public-private partnerships help the Global Fund strengthen health systems, making the most of precious resources and ensuring that the medicines get to where they’re really needed.
Bringing its significant supply chain knowledge to the Government of Tanzania, The Coca-Cola Company, with the support of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Accenture Development Partnerships, has shared its business expertise to help improve the management and delivery of lifesaving drugs.
The Coca-Cola Company also recently partnered with (RED) and will contribute $3 million to support Global Fund programs in Africa to purchase HIV/AIDS medication and distribute prevention information.
