Lucy tested HIV-positive while giving birth to her son Newton, who is now four months old. She received treatment to prevent transmission of the virus to her baby, but is still waiting for the test results to confirm her baby is free of HIV. A Global Fund-supported program in Kenya helps people like Lucy get the support they need to take the necessary tests and stick to their treatment, with the overall goal of improving the quality of life of people living with HIV and to reduce mortality.

But still, 900 babies are born every day with HIV.
