The Board of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria is holding its twenty-first meeting from 28 to 30 April 2010 in Geneva, Switzerland. Over the course of the three-day meeting the Board will discuss a number of key issues, iamong them preparations for the launch of the Tenth Call for Proposals and the Global Fund’s contribution to millennium development goals 4 and 5 and its role in contributing to maternal and child health. The Board Meeting agenda also includes discussion of the next opportunity for applying for funding through National Strategy Applications, and options for coordinated health systems strengthening investments with other financing entities, including the World Bank and the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunizations (GAVI).
The Board will also review progress of the Affordable Medicines Facility – malaria. The Board Meeting is preceded by two days of constituency meetings and briefing sessions on various topics.
