Spreading awareness about malaria through puppet theatre
The puppets are made to dance to attract the attention of the crowd, followed by a performance about how to protect against malaria and treat the disease. The puppeteers are locals, trained by the Malagasy NGO Action Santé Organisation Secours. Entertainment is otherwise scarce, as radio and newspaper coverage is thin, so the show is appreciated by the village. The puppet project is funded by the Global Fund though a World Bank project called CRESAN II. |
