Selection Process

As the term of the previous LFA Framework Contracts expired in 2007, the Global Fund launched a competitive bidding process to re-select suitable Local Fund Agents. The tender process was concluded in August 2008 with the selection of 11 entities to provide LFA services in all of the countries, territories and regions where Global Fund grants are being implemented

The selection of Local Fund Agents for the Global Fund occurred in two phases:

1. Pre-qualifying contractors for each country; and then

2. Selecting Local Fund Agents from among these pre-qualified contractors for all countries receiving Global Fund grants.
