Comparative Advantage Study
We would like to introduce to you a study on the HIV/AIDS Programs of the World Bank and the Global Fund. The study has been conducted by Mr. Alex Shakow and was jointly commissioned by the World Bank and the Global Fund. It responds to a recommendation issued by the Global Task Team on Improving AIDS Coordination Among Multilateral Institutions and International Donors asking “The Global Fund and the World Bank to complete rapid evaluation of areas of overlap, comparative advantage and complementarities”.
We would like to express our deep appreciation for the intensive work of Alex Shakow over the last few months. He carried out his assignment in a completely independent manner. The results and findings of this study are therefore based on his research and do not necessarily express the views of the World Bank or the Global Fund.
However, on behalf of our respective institutions, we welcome this study and its findings, and commit to responding to its recommendations as quickly and comprehensively as possible.
