(RED) Announces New Partners in Fight for an AIDS Free Generation

BED BATH & BEYOND and AMC Theaters are joining (RED) and the fight against AIDS in new partnerships aimed at raising both awareness and money.
With the purchase of each (BED BATH & BEYOND)RED $25 Gift Card, a $1 donation goes to the Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa. The card is available in the US at BED BATH & BEYOND stores and online.
Separately, AMC Theaters is donating 40 cents for every movie ticket AMC sells from June 1-10, an initiative it hopes to raise up to $100,000. AMC has also donated on-screen promotional time for (RED)’s ’40 Cents’ TV spot – featuring Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem, Julianne Moore, Hugh Jackman, Naomi Watts, Jane Lynch, Kerry Washington, Bryan Cranston, Christy Turlington, Benicio del Toro, Ludacris, and the Jonas Brothers.

(RED) was founded in 2006 by Bono and Bobby Shriver to engage businesses and people in the fight against AIDS.
(RED) partners with the world’s most iconic brands who contribute up to 50% of profits from (RED) branded goods and services to the Global Fund. To date, (RED) has generated more than $200 million for the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, to support HIV/AIDS grants in Ghana, Lesotho, Rwanda, South Africa, Swaziland and Zambia. 100 percent of that money goes to work on the ground – no overhead is taken. Global Fund grants that (RED) supports have impacted more than 14 million people with prevention, treatment, counseling, HIV testing and care services.
