Private Sector

  • Private Sector and Nongovernment Donors

As a public-private partnership, the Global Fund presents an unprecedented opportunity for private sector and nongovernment donors to make impactful contributions to the fight against AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. Since the Global Fund’s inception, private sector and nongovernment actors - from businesses, corporations, investors from social enterprises, business federations and coalitions through to philanthropic foundations and individuals - have contributed to the work of the organization in a variety of ways, ranging from engaging in the governance of the Global Fund to contributions of cash and non-cash resources to collaborating with in-country partners and recipients. In addition to funding, private partners bring much needed skills, capabilities, expertise, resources and networks that are critical in the fight against AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.

As the global response to the three diseases reaches scale, the continued and expanded engagement of private contributors will play a critical role in ensuring the long term success of the Global Fund and the fight against AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.
