Transcript

My name is Firehiwot, I am a Healthcare Extension Package Worker. When I suspect someone has malaria, to start with I take a blood sample from their finger. I put it in the Paracheck rapid test. After 15 minutes I check the result. If there is one line showing, it indicates that the result is positive.  The patient has the serious type of malaria which can go to the brain. Once a patient is diagnosed with this kind of malaria, I give them Coarthem an anti-malaria drug. After the analysis, I go through the case with my superior to talk about the cases. If necessary we go through the case with the medical team.
