In 2007 Germany holds the Presidencies of the G8 and the European Union. Africa, the fight against HIV/AIDS and the strengthening of Africa’s health systems are on the agenda of the German G8. On September 26 – 28 2007 Germany will host the Second Meeting of the Global Fund’s Second Replenishment in Berlin. In the run-up to the G8 Summit and the Replenishment Meeting the Global Fund will be hosting a series of events in Berlin to raise awareness about the Global Fund’s work with key decision-makers, opinion leaders and the general public in Germany.
