WORLD TB DAY 2007



On the occasion of World TB Day on 24 March, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria announced that an estimated 1.1 million people are alive today thanks to efforts in 102 countries receiving Global Fund support to battle tuberculosis (TB).

It is heartening to learn that Global Fund resources have provided so many people across the globe, once suffering from this terrible disease, with renewed hope.

These people are alive thanks to the hard work of national TB programs who receive our funding and are supported by strong partners like the World Health Organization (WHO), the Stop TB Partnership, the Global Drug Facility and the Green Light Committee.
