<link>/en/oig/updates/2026-03-06-message-from-the-executive-director-independent-evaluation-function/</link> <description>he Secretariat thanks the OIG for conducting this audit and acknowledges the findings. The Secretariat recognizes the seriousness of the issues identified regarding the effectiveness, governance, and operating model of the Independent Evaluation Function. The Secretariat agrees that incremental or short-term mitigations would not sufficiently address the underlying challenges highlighted in this report. Accordingly, the Strategy Committee and the Secretariat will work together to reflect on the audit findings and develop a comprehensive approach fully considering the mandate, positioning, governance, and operating model of the future evaluation function. This work will be done under the direction of the Strategy Committee and will include engagement with the Board. A comprehensive action plan will be developed starting in March, with regular Board progress updates over the course of 2026.</description>
