North Macedonia (formerly the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia) has a low HIV prevalence in the general population, with higher prevalence rates among key populations such as men who have sex with men, people who inject drugs and sex workers. During the last five years, the Global Fund supported HIV prevention activities among key populations using an integrated, community-level approach. After 2017, the country is not eligible for further HIV funding. North Macedonia is a low TB incidence country. TB prevalence, incidence and mortality have been steadily declining since 1990 and are currently at very low levels. The Global Fund grant supporting TB programs in North Macedonia ended on 31 March 2017.
