Tajikistan has improved quality of HIV care and made HIV services available to more people. For HIV, the overall trend of HIV is on the rise, and access to testing and treatment among key populations, such as people who inject drugs and sex workers, remains poor.

Estimated TB incidence in Tajikistan is high by regional standards, and drug-resistant tuberculosis is becoming a major problem. Global Fund grants continue to support the full range of TB-related health services, but with a focus on fighting drug resistance. Tajikistan received support for malaria programs until 2011. The country is preparing for WHO certification of malaria elimination.
