In this edition of the Operational Update, CCMs, PRs, LFAs and other partners in-country can find information on responding to mpox through Global Fund funding.
Following the public health emergency declarations by Africa CDC and WHO on mpox, countries with HIV grants and C19RM funding can repurpose funds to support eligible interventions to contain the spread of the virus.
Activities that can be supported include systems strengthening of core prevention, early detection and response functions, including disease surveillance, laboratory capacity, community engagement and surge workforce. More information is available in the updated Technical Brief on Prevent, Detect and Respond to Mpox [ download in English | Français | Português ] .
In addition, this update provides information on a multicountry request for proposals, information sessions on mpox and risk management; in addition to an updated list of documents and guidance to support implementation of Global Fund grants, including on reporting process (implementation oversight).
The Global Fund will continue to support in-country partners fight HIV, TB and malaria and strengthen systems for health in addition to responding to emergencies like it did during COVID-19 and now with mpox. Do not hesitate to contact your Global Fund Country Team for more information.
