The Global Fund partnership model includes collaborations, initiatives and cooperation agreements with a number of technical and development partners. These partners play a variety of roles and functions within countries implementing Global Fund grants, including among others governance strengthening, technical support, standard and norm setting, advocacy, grant design and implementation support, and facilitating meaningful engagement.
At the request of the Global Fund Board’s Strategy Committee, the Technical Evaluation Reference Group undertook a review of technical support partnerships in which the Global Fund is engaged. The review explores different technical support models, provides an analysis of strengths and weaknesses, and highlights a number of best practice examples. The review also provides recommendations addressed to the Global Fund and its country and technical partners.
