The Gates Foundation is a key partner of the Global Fund, providing cash contributions, actively participating on its board and committees, and supporting the Global Fund’s advocacy, communications and fundraising efforts.

The Gates Foundation pledged US$912 million for the Eighth Replenishment. The Gates Foundation’s pledge to the Global Fund is composed of two elements: a core pledge of US$912 million, and an additional set of program-specific pledges for initiatives in which the Gates Foundation co-invests alongside the Global Fund.

The Gates Foundation has contributed {{0:C:USD:B}} to the Global Fund to date, and pledged {{2023-2025:P:USD:M}} for the Global Fund’s Seventh Replenishment, covering 2023-2025.

The Gates Foundation has funded many of the Friends of the Global Fund organizations as well as advocacy partners in both developing and developed countries. The foundation provided support to develop and launch initiatives like Debt2Health and (PRODUCT)RED. The foundation has also funded special initiatives in the health supply chain related to the Global Fund.

The Gates Foundation and other foundations are represented on the Global Fund Board through the private foundations delegation.
