The Global Fund

Twentieth Board Meeting

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 9-11 November 2009

The Board of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria held its Twentieth Meeting from 9 - 11 November 2009 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

A key decision point was the new architecture of the Global Fund - moving from a project to a program funding system. The agenda also included a review of outcomes of the Working Group on Managing the Tension Between Demand and Supply in a Resource-Constrained Environment. This was followed by funding decisions for Round 9 and the first learning wave of National Strategy Applications whereby countries have a single proposal framework to respond to disease.
