India and the Global Fund

Global health is among India’s top international cooperation priorities. The Government of India, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has shown unprecedented leadership in fighting infectious diseases. Its efforts to eliminate tuberculosis, in particular, have set global standards. India also plays a leading role prioritizing global health issues on the agendas of the G20 and BRICS.

Indian corporations are driving innovation and serve as critical suppliers of quality and affordable health products, including pharmaceuticals, mosquito nets, and diagnostic tests, for programs funded by the Global Fund. India and the Global Fund also share the objective to harness digital tools, including those integrating artificial intelligence, to maximize health outcomes. The Global Fund currently invests over US$150 million per year in initiatives that help countries around the world better capture, integrate, analyze and use data.
