Potential Engagement with Non-eligible Countries in Crisis
- The Board acknowledges that a health crisis may emerge in an ineligible non-high income country that could have an adverse impact on the global response against HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and/or malaria, and that the health crisis may be of such a magnitude that the Global Fund should consider providing support; and
- Based on the recommendation of the Strategy Committee, the Board requests the Secretariat, in consultation with relevant partners, to present potential investment cases meeting the criteria described in GF/B39/03 – Revision 1 to the Strategy Committee for review and recommendation to the Board. Any such proposals shall also include options for how the proposed investment should be funded.
Budgetary Implications
Budgetary implications: This decision is likely to have future budgetary implications for country funding and/or Secretariat OPEX, but the actual amounts will depend on the specific size of the crisis and potential response. These will be detailed in any proposals that result from this decision.
