After Paris

The Global Fund partnership expressed solidarity with the people of Paris, of France, and of the world, mourning the senseless loss of life and condemning the violence that counters humanity and universal values.
The attack in Paris was an attack on the people of France, and on innocent people everywhere. We stand with the people of Paris today, refusing to give in to cowardly and destructive acts that harm human beings. There is no place for terrorism and extremism in a world that believes in the possibility of human progress.
Liberté, égalité, fraternité are the deep values enshrined in the city of Paris. Those values will endure far longer than any behind an act of terrorism or hate.
What happened in Paris is a heartbreaking reminder of how fragile life can be. As we mourn together, and struggle to make sense, let us stand together. Today, we are all Parisians, we are all French.
