Nobel Prize Laureates Share Vision for Global Health

Several Nobel Prize Laureates presented their vision for the future of global health at the Global Fund’s Sixth Replenishment Conference in Lyon, France 9 October 2019.

On the panel: Dr. Françoise Barré Sinoussi, Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, 2008; Dr. Peter Agre, Nobel Prize in Chemistry, 2003; Dr. Riccardo Valentini, Nobel Peace Prize, 2007; and Médecins Sans Frontières International, Nobel Peace Prize, 1999, represented by Ms. Mit Philips, Health Policy Adviser and Medical Adviser to the Directorate General.

Preceding the panel was a tribute to former United Nations Secretary-General and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Kofi Annan, with speeches by Heidemarie Wieczorek-Zeul, former German Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, and Nane Lagergren Annan, wife of the late Kofi Annan.

The event was organized by Friends of the Global Fund Europe.
