Comic Relief UK is a longstanding partner of the Global Fund, contributing funding and public engagement to support the fight against HIV, tuberculosis and malaria.

Comic Relief UK has been a key partner of the Global Fund since 2008 and has contributed more than US$31 million to Global Fund–supported programmes, helping to expand access to prevention, testing and treatment services in countries most affected by the three diseases.

In 2026, Comic Relief UK announced a GBP 3 million funding pledge to the Global Fund, which is being matched one-to-one by the Gates Foundation, to strengthen community health systems across Africa. This pledge builds on previously announced commitments of US$5 million from the Johnson & Johnson Foundation and US$6 million from the Skoll Foundation, together unlocking an additional US$14.9 million in matching funds from the Gates Foundation as part of the Global Fund’s Eighth Replenishment.

By combining Comic Relief’s powerful public fundraising platforms, including Red Nose Day and Sport Relief, with the Global Fund’s partnership model and country-led investments, this collaboration continues to expand its reach, strengthen community health systems and accelerate progress towards ending the three diseases as public health threats.
