Face of the Fight Elhadj Diop
Elhadj Diop is a malaria crusader from Senegal. He began his mission to prevent malaria when his own daughter died from the disease in 1999. Since then, he has worked tirelessly to educate rural communities about how to prevent and treat cases, bringing malaria deaths in his area to near zero.
Elhadj spoke (in French) at the Global Fund’s Sixth Replenishment Conference in Lyon, France 9-10 October 2019. At the conference donors pledged US$14 billion to Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria for the next three years.
