Canada

Canada has been a strong supporter of the Global Fund since the founding of our partnership in 2002, investing CAD 3.17 billion and US$100.01 million to date. Canada’s contribution to the Global Fund is the largest it has made to any international financing institution for health. Canada is the 7th largest public donor to the Global Fund and pledged CAD 995.4 million for 2020-2022 – a 15.7% increase from its previous pledge. In 2020, Canada allocated CAD 65 million to the Global Fund’s COVID-19 response.

Canada hosted the Global Fund’s Fifth Replenishment Conference in September 2016. The country brought together leaders from around the world for the conference in Montréal, Québec, to raise funds and support the Global Fund in its efforts to end HIV, TB and malaria as epidemics.
