Medtronic LABS is supporting the Global Fund with US$100,000 and US$5 million in in-kind resources. These contributions will support work focused on digital health innovation and digital infrastructure in Africa. First, the partnership will expand the disease applications of the SPICE platform to include more than ten disease pathways, including HIV, TB, malaria and others, aligning with country priorities. Second, the partnership will open source the SPICE platform to become a digital public good or global good. Third, the partnership will deepen core technology capabilities, including expanding ML/AI machinery for a predictive approach to population health. Fourth, the partnership will focus on training and capacity building for health care workers in digital literacy and data for health, as well as clinical guidelines in health areas. Finally, the partnership will expand Medtronic LABS geographic footprint via public private partnerships.
