Funding from diverse sources is essential to scaling up and winning the fight against the three diseases. Private sector and nongovernment partners invest directly in the Global Fund or provide resources aligned with Global Fund efforts.
Some our resource mobilization partnerships include:
Le Nu Thuy Duong, Vice Chairwoman and CEO, KN Holdings
Ms. Le Nu Thuy Duong, Vice Chairwoman and CEO, KN Holdings, became Global Fund partner in 2019 to support tuberculosis programs in her native Viet Nam. Through Long Thanh Golf Investment and Trading she pledged US$1 million at the Global Fund’s Sixth Replenishment, and a further US$3 million at the Seventh Replenishment in 2022. These contributions were further bolstered by matching funds from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, resulting in a US$11 million total commitment to the Global Fund. Ms. Duong’s support has helped expand the critical work of fighting pediatric tuberculosis led by the government of Viet Nam.
Plan International and Plan Canada
Plan International and Plan Canada pledged CAD 3 million for the Global Fund’s Seventh Replenishment, covering 2023-2025, building on their previous pledge of CAD 3.9 million for the Sixth Replenishment. The contribution will continue supporting Global Fund-supported programs to scale up access to services and promote human rights and gender equality in western Africa with a focus on programming for adolescent girls and young women. Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organization working in 71 countries to advance children’s rights and equality for girls.
