Peter Sands Makes the Case
“Against adversaries as formidable as HIV, TB and malaria, there is no middle ground. We’re either winning or we’re losing,” says Peter Sands, Executive Director of the Global Fund. Speaking at the Global Fund’s Sixth Replenishment Conference, Sands presented the investment case showing the need to step up the fight against the diseases.
On 10 October 2019, donors at the conference in Lyon, France pledged US$14 billion to Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria for the next three years.
