Kuwait was the first Gulf country to contribute to the Global Fund, investing US$1 million in 2003. To date, Kuwait has contributed US$18 million to the Global Fund.
Kuwait channels its contributions to the Global Fund through the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development. The country’s areas of interest are humanitarian aid and financing of development projects.
