2022

SC Johnson is a privately held family company with operations in more than 70 countries and sales in virtually every country. As the leading manufacturer of household pest control products, and with the world’s largest private entomology research center, SC Johnson is uniquely positioned to fight mosquito-borne disease.

The partnership will leverage SC Johnson’s expertise in entomology and consumer science to improve national malaria program interventions, making them more targeted and effective. This is an in-kind partnership to transfer skills and build in-country capacity in National Malaria Control Programs (NMCP) in order to:

  • Strengthen national and regional entomological capacities via technical assistance and knowledge transfer, particularly around insecticide resistance and laboratory management.
  • Share best practices across countries and the public and private sector.
  • Support NMCPs to develop a more beneficiary-centric approach to malaria prevention by uncovering consumer insights and health seeking behavior around malaria prevention activities.
  • Build a more accurate picture of the “prevention journey”. These insights would inform NMCPs to design better interventions in their mass campaigns, including better guidance, communications and messaging.
